Throughout the program, students will gain the knowledge and skills required for a variety of different roles and career pathways.
Graduates may be employed as:
- mobile developers
- mobile engineers
- iPhone operating system (iOS) developers
- Android developers
- software developers
- software or quality assurance (QA) testers
- user interface (UI) or user experience (UX) developers
Graduates may find work in the private or public sector, from large companies to smaller start-ups, spanning a range of different market sectors.
With the Mobile Application Development (MDEV) program at Georgian College, I moved from struggling to break into the industry to choosing between job offers within a week. Before enrolling in program, I was a self-taught developer, eager but struggling to establish myself in the mobile development industry. The program turned out to be a game-changer for me. It simulated a realistic work environment, emphasized the value of teamwork, and even provided hands-on experience of publishing an app on the Google Play Store.
The invaluable lessons I learned about coding architecture have been a cornerstone of my professional development. Within a week of completing the MDEV program, I found myself in a position I could only dream of before – choosing between two job offers. I accepted one and it turned out to be the job I’ve always aspired to have. Now, over a year later, I find my job as rewarding and engaging as when I started. Using technology-enabled, purpose-designed learning spaces, professors deliver lectures and labs in the classroom and simultaneously online.
